Parental Discretion Advised

Here's the link of the disturbing voice mail mesage that the embattled actor Alec Baldwin left for his daughter Ireland (with actress and ex-wife Kim Basinger) back in late April. I know this controversy had been played out in the media weeks ago but I just thought I'll make a post about it in this new blog and see if we can share opinions and "deep" thoughts regarding this (tabloid bait) matter. Of course, we're in no position to sit in judgment of the people involved and we don't really know all sides of their story but I'm just curious to know what you think.

Boy, does Alec sound really pissed! Who knows how things really stand and why he reached that boiling point?!? I would steer clear of him if I were his daughter!

It just tells that when we reach our 'boiling point', we really tend to say things that we oftentimes regret. When I get angry, I also have the tendency to say really hurtful words. But just a question - our of interest - do you really say that to a 12-year old?

Gina and Len, I agree that there's a lot more into their story that we're not privy to. I also understand that people can say very hurtful things when blinded by anger. What I just couldn't fathom was the juvenile name calling of his daughter. A worthless pig? That's really rough! That kid will be in therapy all her life. Thanks for sharing your opinions ;-)

I totally agree. I think Alec Baldwin needs to see a Psych too. I was so shocked the first time I heard this. I've always liked Alec Baldwin but I guess I don't now.

I'm sure parents use this language to kids more than we even want to know. Its just that Alec is in the spotlight. It sounds like a big family battle that happens when people divorce. Its so easy for people to divorce nowadays and its scary because its the kids that suffer the most. We are raising kids to not have commitment and Im sure divorce rates will continue to skyrocket. I have said some hurtful things before when I am mad...I would never go as far as Alec went though...and my hurtful words are never directed to my girls...their hearts are still young and easily breakable...I feel bad for his daughter...but thats the stress famous people live...its actually nicer to live a simpler lifestyle. Very embarrasing for him Im sure.
